Dental implants: their beginnings and development
At Clinicas Udemax we have been placing dental implants for more than 40 years. Therefore, thanks to this degree of experience and knowledge, we can assure our patients one of the most important sensations when it comes to health: TRANQUILITY .
In addition to working with the best brands on the market, our success rate is equal to the best statistics in the world. This makes it a safe and highly effective treatment.
In Clinicas Udemax we not only know the traditional techniques but we are constantly recycling as every day new companies and new designs are born. And it is necessary to be aware of all the new developments.
One of the biggest differences between the implants of yesteryear and the newest ones is the planning. They used to be planned with panoramic X-rays, whereas now 3D techniques simplify the treatments.
Another major advance in the world of implants is the absence of pain. Thanks to the use of safe sedatives, our patients do not have to go through stressful moments. We can even offer conscious sedation in collaboration with our anaesthesia team.
What are the benefits of dental implants and who is affected?
Dental implants offer our patients a “second chance”. A new chance to live with fixed dentures.
Those with removable dentures will notice the difference the most.
More than 30% of patients wearing removable dentures only eat a soft diet. According to extensive literature, tooth loss leads to poor nutrition and can accompany generalised problems throughout the body. In other words, at Clinicas Udemax we are able to restore the patient’s dental health by placing the missing teeth through dental implants. Depending on the number of teeth to be replaced, the placement technique, the number and type of prosthesis will be different.
In addition to the aesthetic aspect, when a person loses a tooth, only with the placement of an implant will we be able to avoid bone loss. If this loss occurs, the anatomy and features of the entire face are modified. The way of occluding the teeth (biting) is also modified, which can lead to diseases of the jaw joint to the limit of producing a blockage of the joint (impossibility of opening or closing the mouth).
The placement of dental implants helps to prevent all these consequences.
Requirements for dental implants
It is important for the patient to understand that sufficient bone is necessary for the placement of implants. If this bone does not exist, after an appropriate study, bone regeneration techniques can be used.
Once we have ascertained the viability of the implant, a detailed examination of the whole mouth will be carried out. If the existing hygiene conditions are favourable, radiographic tests will be carried out for the implantological study. These tests include, if necessary, the new 3D techniques.
The placement of the implants is usually carried out in a single session and depending on the type of prosthesis to be made, the following steps will be different.
The new technologies offered by the Clinicas Udemax make the new materials very aesthetic and extremely resistant.
