What is a non-surgical facelift?
The non-surgical facelift is a medical-aesthetic treatment based on the infiltration of a filler material that counteracts the visible signs of ageing in the face and neck, recovering tone and smoothness in the face and mitigating the effect known as flaccidity or facial sagging.
The material used aims to boost the production of collagen and elastin which, as we have mentioned, are the components responsible for providing firmness and elasticity to the skin. These proteins naturally present in the body are lost as we age and our cells are less and less able to produce them.
The loss of collagen and elastin is what gives rise to facial flaccidity that manifests itself in expression lines and wrinkles in areas such as the eyelids, the nasolabial folds, the arch of the jaw or the jowls. But today, with the medical-aesthetic facelift technique, it is possible to stimulate its production.
What does the facelift technique consist of?
At Udemax, we use calcium hydroxyapatite infiltrations to perform the facelift technique. This filler material has a progressive effect and the result can be evaluated after approximately four months, when the recovery of facial volume and the attenuation of wrinkles and furrows give a younger and healthier appearance to the facial skin.
Application of calcium hydroxyapatite
Calcium hydroxyapatite is a component already present in our body and is therefore safe, far from producing allergic reactions. This filler material is therefore biocompatible, but it also has the characteristic of being biodegradable or reabsorbable, i.e. it undergoes a natural biodegradation process in which, after a variable period of time depending on the patient, it disappears.
When calcium hydroxyapatite is injected into the skin using microcannulas that allow better distribution of the product (reducing trauma such as bruising), a process known as neocollagenesis occurs, i.e. collagen production, which in turn triggers a natural production of this protein. In general, only 1 to 2 interventions are necessary.
What are the advantages of a facelift without surgery?
- It is an aesthetic medicine treatment which, unlike surgery, is not traumatic and does not require a complicated postoperative period.
- For this same reason, it is practically painless, as well as reversible, as it uses a material that is naturally reabsorbed by the body itself.
- The results achieved are natural and visible from the first session, as the calcium hydroxyapatite produces an initial effect by filling in facial depressions.
