Use of botulinum toxin in facial aesthetics
Botulinum toxin, popularly known by the commercial name of the first product to be marketed, BOTOX®, is a very safe drug, used for more than 20 years in many medical specialties and with which we work at Clinicas Udemax.
Its popularisation and most widespread use is due to aesthetic medicine, due to its preventive, corrective and rehabilitative effect on different skin alterations (seborrhoea, ageing, etc.) and especially to its indication for treating expression wrinkles.
It is the ideal medicine to make expression wrinkles disappear because it works by relaxing the muscles of the face that produce them. It is especially indicated for “crow’s feet” wrinkles, forehead and frown lines.
Botulinum toxin relaxes muscles, does not fill in defects or wrinkles, and has a proven rehabilitative effect on the muscle on which it acts.
One vial should be used per patient. It is important to go for a check-up at Clinicas Udemax by our specialist doctor when indicated.
This treatment does not have mathematical results, so at the check-up, 10 to 15 days after the treatment, you may need a touch-up.
The established doses should not be exceeded, but neither should they be under-dosed, as this will shorten the duration and efficacy.
Duration of treatment.
The duration is variable depending on each person and their facial characteristics, at Clinicas Udemax we evaluate depending on the way the face moves, skin type, age, being a man or a woman. The normal duration is between 3 months and 6 months, it is normal to repeat the treatment every 4 to 5 months, before the effect disappears completely.
At Clinicas Udemax we are committed to facial aesthetics.
