Traditional or electric toothbrush?

Many of you have asked us on more than one occasion the million dollar question: what should I use to clean my teeth, a manual toothbrush or an electric toothbrush?

Although it is a question that will vary depending on the person, it may be that the electric toothbrush is more effective. However, at Clinicas Udemax we always recommend the toothbrush that you feel more comfortable with and that you master better.

Dental hygiene is essential to maintain a healthy mouth. Therefore, brushing and flossing should be part of your daily routine. In addition to being preventive care capable of avoiding later problems, they will keep you away from possible infections that are more complicated to solve.

One of the main advantages of some electric toothbrushes is their ability to reduce bacterial plaque, which is responsible for caries and gingivitis. In addition, the risk of tooth abrasion is lower as they have a pressure control mechanism.

If you opt for this type of toothbrush, it is very important that you use it correctly.

How do you use an electric toothbrush? Very simple, as it has an oscillating and rotating movement, we will rest it on the piece for a couple of seconds. We will start with the bottom line on the posterior and anterior sides and, for the next phase, we will continue with the upper arch, repeating the same process. We will always follow the tooth line.

But if, despite the advantages mentioned above, you still prefer a traditional toothbrush, it is also very important that you use it correctly.

It is a matter of making circles around the teeth. It is important to reach the occlusal parts and also the molars. It is also very important to always brush the tongue.

At Clinicas Udemax we leave it up to you to choose the type of toothbrush you can use. However, it is essential that you are disciplined and constant in your dental hygiene. Your health will thank you for it.

If you have any doubts, we are happy to receive you in any of our three clinics: Emardental, Udemax and Arcdental.
