Trip to ADA 2015
A trip isn’t a trip if you don’t tell your friends about it. So, now that we are beginning to miss Washington and its solemnity, we are going to make you a little envious, to see if, for a few minutes, the Udemax Group will be on a trip again, even if it is only in memory.
On 4 November, we left Palma for Washington DC. After more than 16 hours of travelling we arrived, eager to learn everything that ADA 2015 had to offer, but, above all, eager to stretch our legs.
On the first day, both Dr. Jorro and I registered as International Attenders.
During our stay in the capital, several conferences attracted our attention. For example:
- The Secret Sauce: Hidden Ingredients of Highly Successful Teams
- The Art of Getting to ‘Yes
- Double Your New Patient Numbers: Dental Marketing That Works
- Apps, Apps and More Apps Nov 6 2015 12:30PM
- Come In and Catch It: The Review That Sticks
- The Best of Class and Why They Are Best in My Practice
- Implants in the Esthetic Zone: Science, Protocols and Techniques
- Previous Esthetic Dentistry
And as not everything can be study, learn and study again, after attending the conferences, we visited the market place, where we took the opportunity to have a small snack and visit the different stands where the new technologies were exhibited.
Different stands caught our attention:
- Zimmer Biomet, where we were informed about their new product lines in dental implants after the merger of the two companies.
- Vatech, where we were shown the new three-dimensional devices that will soon be incorporated into our practices.
- Colgate, where we saw the new products to prevent the increase in caries.
- Paterson dental, in which we were introduced to the new line of dental furniture.
- Velscope, a new system for the early detection of oral cancer, which will soon be available in our surgeries.
- Planmeca and 3m, in which they showed us the new 3D scanner system.
In addition, apart from conferences and stands, we also had time for the more social part of the programme.
On the evening of 5 November, we were invited to an evening at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Thanks to this part of the programme, we were able to visit the museum without crowds, while enjoying a cocktail (whether you like it or not, a drink always makes a visit to a museum more enjoyable).
On November 6th we visited the Capitol and saw the statue of Fray Junipero Serra, the most prominent figure in all of California, as each state is represented by a person and California is represented by the Mallorcan Fray Junipero Serra, recently sanctified by Pope Francis and who dedicated himself to evangelizing the entire area of Baja California.
On 7 November, with our heads a little fuller, almost as full as our suitcases, we said goodbye to Washington and headed for Spain.
(Hopefully) See you next year!
