Is it normal for baby teeth to be so far apart?
Paediatric Dentistry at GRUPO UDEMAX
Nature is very wise and these spaces are necessary for the permanent teeth , which are wider than the baby teeth , to fit properly.
Normally, permanent teeth begin to form when children have not yet experienced significant growth of the mandible and maxilla, which is why the space between the baby teeth .
Once the baby tooth falls out or is extracted, the permanent tooth will begin to show through the gum. Thus, its eruption together with the growth of the head will make these spaces disappear.
We must be vigilant in cases where these spaces do not exist as they may indicate that we will need space for the permanent teeth to develop. In these cases it will be necessary to visit the UDEMAX GROUP for an assessment with the orthodontist before these baby teeth fall out.

By seeing our orthodontist beforehand, we can take advantage of the movement and growth of the head to reposition the permanent teeth as they come in. And avoid a longer, more time-consuming and costly treatment in the future.
We recommend that you visit one of our Arcdental or Emardental practices if you have any doubts.
