Intraoral scanner, benefits of the technology
In recent years medicine, and with it also dentistry, has undergone an enormous and remarkable digital revolution. Processes that used to be uncomfortable for patients or time-consuming are now much less invasive and much faster.
Thanks to technology and its advances, we can, little by little, benefit from significant improvements in different medical processes. For example, with the use of our famous intraoral scanner, a powerful diagnostic tool, we can dispense with the old and annoying impression paste that we used to use before, which was much more uncomfortable for patients.
The intraoral scanner is a computer system with a touch screen where we enter the patient’s data and the prosthetic prescription, i.e. what we are going to ask the prosthetic laboratory for. We will improve the patient experience, reduce consultation time and be able to consider new treatment possibilities.
It also makes our work easier when it comes to making prostheses, as we will be much quicker and more precise when making any type of prosthesis.
The operation is very simple, fast and completely painless. Intraoral scanning consists of capturing optical impressions of the upper and lower arches and sending them directly to the laboratory. All we have to do is pass the scanner or intraoral camera over the patient’s gums and teeth and it emits a light source.
At Clinicas Udemax, every year we open the doors of our clinics so that you can see in situ how the scanner works. Do not hesitate to come to our next appointment and you will see that technology is gradually making our work easier.
